One of the goals for the second quarter of this year is to have everyone in our class write a blog entry about a book they have read. This will accomplish many goals; first, you will practice critiquing a text. You will also, of course, practice writing. The class will also be able to choose to read a book or author based on these reviews. Finally, by publishing our writing, we get the chance to practice writing good comments to each other.
How to write your book recommendation:
- Write the title of the book and the author's name as the title of your post.
- ex. Because of Winn Dixie by Kate DiCamillo
- Give a very brief (short) summary without giving away the whole story.
- Tell what genre the book is.
- Explain why you liked the book and why you think someone else would like the book..
- Be specific.
- Write at least five sentences.
